Perfect Day Together (SIWAS DT Reveal)

I can't wait to share with you this layout that i've created last weekend!  It is one of my favorites by far this year.  I love the color combination and the special picture of me and Yves. :)

But first of all, let's start with the inspiration!

Scrap It with a Song this week is all about love and family.  Make sure to go visit and get creative with any of this month's playlist - you could win a cool prize!  Madonna's Keep It Together is this week's song, and i decided to base the overall theme of my layout on the word 'Together'.  As the hidden journaling on this layout states, Yves and I have been together for 6 years now, and i have to say that every day that i spend with him is just perfect.  We have such a deep connection and every moment spent together, whether we are veggin' out on the couch watching a movie or taking a stroll in the beautiful Autumn leaves, is pure magic.  His presence in my life is a true blessing.

My layout was also inspired by the exquisite color palette from this month's Prima Product Pick challenge.  I loved the warm rich hues, perfect for November, and i think i succeeded in transferring that warmth on my layout.

And last but certainly not least, i used this fabulous sketch by Nadia Cannizzo from Once Upon A ...Sketch as inspiration:

Now, here is what all that inspiration helped me create:
I have to say that my camera and the poor lighting in my craftroom do not do the colors of this layout justice.  For example, the Prima paper i used as the background is from the Alla Prima collection and is of a much warmer shade of yellow than what you can see on my photo.

As always, the OUAS challenge requires us to use journaling on our layout.  See the 'Remember This' tag on the right of the picture?  My journaling is hiding on that tag.
You can see from some of the close-up shots that i added clear crackle paint on my background.

Don't you just LOVE that robin's nest?!  Sooo adorable!
Flowers, flowers and more flowers! What Prima does best!

I really hope that you have enjoyed looking at this layout and that it has inspired you to create!

Get out your Prima products! :)

Here is the list of all Prima products i used:
Mini Rose - Sunrise 535469
Mini Rose - Bright 535544
Delightful Day Dimmet 546953
Cut-outs from different packaging material

Authentique Card Sketch Challenge

As promised, i'm sharing with you today yet another card i created over the past weekend.  This card is inspired by the Authentique Paper Card Sketch Challenge for November.
This card was created using papers and stickers from the Genuine collection. I just love the combination of different shades of blue and mustard yellow!

And as the card says, it's a good day to have a good day!

So good day to you all!  :)

Artful Delight Card Sketch Challenge

The card i am sharing today was inspired by this sketch from the Artful Delight blog:
I decided to keep this card pretty simple, but at the same time elegant.  I chose neutral colored cardstock and added some embossed design with my Cuttlebug. I then added a splash of color with a bright blue flower and some brown bling.

I'm hoping this card will cheer up someone who has been feeling under the weather lately!

Thanks for dropping by and come back tomorrow... i will be sharing another card!

PageMaps' Freckled Fawn Card Sketch Contest

Click HERE for my Creative Scrappers DT Reveal (Sketch#235) also posted today!

I have been fairly creative this weekend, finishing one very special Prima-based layout as part of my SIWAS DT reveal and OUAS challenge which i will be sharing with you on Thursday, as well as a few cards, including this one:
I created this card PageMaps' Freckled Fawn Card Sketch Contest and used this adorable PageMaps sketch as inspiration:

Up for grabs in this contest is a $30 gift certificate to the Freckled Fawn web site which offers many cool products including tags of various styles and colors, intricate paper doilies (i SO need some of those!) and the ever so popular Washi Tape that i have been admiring from afar for quite some time now.  Yes, i must confess!  I have yet to own even one roll of Washi Tape, but hopefully that'll change soon if Lady Luck smiles my way! :)  Visit Freckled Fawn and see for yourself!

Come back tomorrow as I'll share another one of my weekend creations!  :)

Feel The Rush (CS#235 DT Reveal)

It's Sunday, so time for another DT reveal for Creative Scrappers!

This time, i got to play with Sketch #235 from the very talented Nicole Nowosad:
Isn't it original and gorgeous?  I love the linear design and, of course, the banner!

Here is my take:
I had a lot of fun with embossing powder, lots of stitching and different pattern papers from Authentique.

And now for a few close-up shots:

I strongly encourage you to visit Creative Scrappers, drool over the rest of the DT's amazing creations and play along with us with any of this month's sketches.  You could win a prize from our sponsor Peace, Love & Scrapbooking.

Snow Adorable (PageMaps Ruby Rock-It Sketch Contest)

Are you people happy that Winter is fast approaching?  I'm not!  But, nevertheless, Winter layouts have always been some of my favorites to do.  Snowflakes, glitter, sparkles and pink cheeks! This layout features all of those!

I got inspired by this super cute sketch from the PageMaps Ruby Rock-It sketch contest:

What a perfect Winter photo of my friend Nathalie's little boy Tristan!  Check out the snowflakes on his eyelashes!  Truly precious!
You will no doubt recognize the BoBunny Midnight Frost collection.  It has remained a favorite of mine since its release a couple years ago!  Can you believe i had bought so much of this collection that i still have LOTS of it left over?  More than enough to create another layout (a match for this one perhaps?) and many, many cards!
I used a Snow Marker to add the snow on the chipboard letters.

Ok, now i have to admit...  after having created and shared this Winter layout, i might, just MIGHT, be looking forward to seeing the first snow of the season.  Be sure that i'll have my camera ready!  :)

Thanks for visiting... and check out PageMaps' sketch contest! You have until November 25th to play along!

Chase Your Dreams (SIWAS DT Reveal)

It's time to sing and scrap along with another great tune at Scrap It with a Song!

This week, musical inspiration comes from John Mellencamp's "Our Country".  Make sure to visit the SIWAS blog to see the Rock Chicks' creations and to link up your project before the end of the month.  There is even a prize to be won! :)

I was inspired by one particular line in the song that goes : "I do believe there is a dream for everyone."

I based my layout on the very pretty November sketch from the C'est Magnifique Kits blog.

I also wanted to play along with the fun layout challenge from BoBunny this month which is to make two separate clusters on a page, using two photos, one in each cluster.

Obviously, most of the products used are from BoBunny, including beautiful papers from the Weekend Market collection, navy blue BoBunny blossoms, a trinket from the Timepiece collection and some jewels.

And now time for some close-ups!

Thank you so much for dropping by!

Circle of Love (CS#233 DT Reveal)

As announced a few weeks ago, i have been chosen to be part of the Creative Scrappers Design Team for the next 4 months, and today, i am extremely excited to share with you my first DT reveal.  I have been inspired by CS sketches for the last year or so, and now working with these sketches to inspire others is a scrappy dream come true!

Here is Sketch 233, designed by the fabulous Juliana Michaels, being revealed today on the CS blog:

Make sure to visit Creative Scrappers to see the fabulous layouts that the rest of Team A created based on this sketch, and link up your project before the end of November to be in the running for a wonderful prize from this month's sponsor, Peace, Love & Scrapbooking.

My layout for this first DT reveal turned out quite color-fun, but still with a touch of elegance.  The picture is of me with Yves and his family, the Belangers, which are all so very dear to me!  I couldn't have asked for a better family-in-law :)
I used papers from the Basic Grey's Picadilly collection which i love, and i matched them up with some embellishments and stickers from Echo Park's For The Record 2: Tailored collection.  The colors and designs seemed to mesh together perfectly!

I decided to work with the circles in Juliana's sketch and incorporate them in the overall theme of my layout.  The ScrapFX chipboard title was just perfect, as well as the Dusty Attic which i cut up into different pieces to accent my layout in different ways.

Here are some close-ups:

Hope you have enjoyed my first reveal as a DT member for Creative Scrappers!  I'm looking forward to many more in the coming months!  Thank you so much CS for this awesome opportunity!
