Mother's Love
(Berry71bleu GDT & Prima May BAP)

What a great surprise it was a few weeks ago to be asked to be a
Guest Designer
for a challenge blog that I have been following for a few years now...

I didn't have to think about it twice before I said 'YES!'
since I love Berry71bleu and I had seen this month's challenge and
was absolutely planning to find the time to play along, amid all my DT work.

In several countries, May is the month when we pay tribute to Mothers,
so this challenge is:

'All About Mom'
Pay tribute to your own mom or create a project based on
your own thoughts & feelings about being a mom.

You can click HERE to learn more about this challenge
as you still have a few days to create your project and link up!

I didn't have to dig deep into my stash of papers and pictures to find the perfect
combination for this project. I knew I wanted to make a layout
about my own mother who is very dear to my heart and who has
always been my best friend, and I just happened to have a beautiful
picture of her that I was saving for a special layout.  It went
perfectly with these pretty Tea-Thyme from Prima.

Along with Berry71bleu's challenge, I was inspired by this beautiful sketch
from this month's Prima Build-A-Page challenge.  Therefore, most of the products used from the paper to the flowers to all the bling comes from Prima.

Now let's take a look at some of the details, featuring lots of Prima goodness!

I loved the flow of words on Jennifer's sketch,
and so I created my own with a chipboard title and several Lace Stickers.

I fussy cut the paper roses from patterned paper and then added on lots of Prima flowers.  Behind the flower cluster, I slipped a tag with my journaling.

Below  you can see some more Prima flowers adorned with
Say It in Crystals Mini Swirls.

Another beautiful Prima embellishment used is this
beautiful Spolight Midnight leaf.

I really love how this page turned out and I think it is fit for a Queen...
my Mom who is the Queen of my heart! I feel so blessed to have her in my life.

Thank you so much Berry71bleu for this awesome GDT opportunity!

1 of a Kind
(May SOS Sketch Challenge DT Reveal)

Oh, how I ENJOYED this new challenge over at Scrap Our Stash!

The sketch is so awesome and the stash challenge is exactly the kind that I love.

Click HERE for all the details!

This is this month's sketch designed by Lanette Erickson.
Isn't it fabulous!?

The stash challenge is to create your own flowers!

As I said earlier, I loved this sketch, probably my favorite sketch so far this year.
I loved all the circles and decided to stitch them up instead of cutting out patterned paper.

I also had fun creating my own flowers using several dies and my good ol' Cuttlebug
which is still my favorite of all bigger scrapbooking tools I own.

I layered the different styles of flowers to create a layered effect,
adding a button with twine in the center of some of them and a gem in others.

I'm very happy with how this page turned out and I just love
these pictures of my niece Ella when she was a bit younger.
What an adorable precious smile, truly 'one of a kind'!

Do you like it?

Please let me know in the comments!

And make sure to visit Scrap Our Stash to play along!!!

Adorable
(Prima May PPP & C'est Magnifique May Sketch)

I am back today to share another very Shabby Chic layout featuring
the little Jade whose dazzling smile can make each layout beautiful!

This layout was inspired by the Prima Product Pick for May
that is a combination of all my favorite colours with a tint of gold and glitter!

I also used this very pretty sketch from
I love that the sketch shows a lot of white space so that it leaves us more creative freedom.

Now let's take a closer look at this page, starting with a view
of the different patterned papers used, all from older Prima collections,
and this pretty fabric Fantasy Snow Butterfly and a Fairy Belle Trinket.
You can also see the textured background which I created using
Finnabair's Bubble Stencil (my new favorite!!!) and molding paste along with mists.
I don't own Prima Color Bloom Sprays yet, but it's just a matter of time! :)

I was happy to peak this particular Butterfly-Pupa Flower on this month's PPP as I recently
added it to my stash and was waiting for the perfect project to use it on!
I matched it up with several other Prima blooms that you will find listed below.

Here you can see that I tucked some doilies created with the Prima Metal Die Doily 1.
I also painted some Wood Icon Roses pink and added them to my flower clusters
along with Hello Pastel Say It in Crystals Mini Swirls in baby pink and cream.

And here's one last look at this adorable little girl surrounded in Prima goodness!

Thank you to Prima for the inspiration.  Click HERE to play along with the May PPP.

A huge thank you also goes to C'est Magnifique Kit Club whose sketch was
the perfect base design for my page.  Click HERE to join in on the CM challenge.

Just the Girls
(2Crafty GDT for Off the Rails Scrapbooking)

Some of us DT girls from 2Crafty Chipboard
have been asked to guest design for Off the Rails Scrapbooking
as 2Crafty is the main sponsor for OTR this month.

This is the layout I created featuring lots of beautiful 2Crafty chippies.
It was also part of my 2Crafty DT reveal which went live on the 2Crafty blog on the 14th.

This is the May mood palette from Off the Rails Scrapbooking which inspired my layout.
This challenge has gone live on May 1st - you can click HERE for the details.

It is gorgeous!!!

Believe it or not, this beautiful wood grain paper is from the 'Altitude' Winter collection
from Bo Bunny.  I just covered the snowflakes with stenciling and paint.
I added many elements from the mood palette on to my page,
including the colours of course, butterflies, lace pattern (doily) and cream-colored roses.

Let's take a close look at all the 2Crafty Chipboard used!

The "Just the Girls" title consists of stains, glimmer mist, glitter paste and dabs of white paint.
One of my all-time favorite 2Crafty piece, the leafy flourish from the "Leafy Shrub Set 1"
was coated with white paint and sparkle texture paste.

I also love the "Formal Flourish 3" which I lined vertically against the white left border.
I really like the texture that the blue Glitter Paste added to the chipboard
after I added purple stain and white paint to it.

WARNING!
Cutie above... Cutie below!  :)

I cut out pieces of the "Turkish Lattice Panel" which I tucked in different spots of my layout.

And here is one last close-up!

I hope you will play along!

Flowery Layered Canvas
(Scrap Around the World Mid-Month Reveal)

It's the 2nd year Anniversary May Epic Event at Scrap Around the World
and the mid-month reveal has just gone live!

The mood board comes from a very special lady at Scrap Around the World!
Without her, Scrap Around the World wouldn't even exist...
Helen Tilbury {South Africa}, blog owner.

Click HERE to view the first of the month reveal
and HERE for today's mid-month reveal.

Here is my canvas inspired by this super fabulous and celebratory Mood Board:

You can easily see what elements in the mood board inspired me,
starting with the beautiful colours and the overall theme
of special days and celebrations!
I layered a 4x6 inches canvas over a 10x8 inches one.

After creating a textured background with molding paste stenciled in
(some of it in a polkadot design to repeat the texture of the shoe)
and misted in an ombre effect, I added some cut out pieces
of the "Bubble Grid Panel" from 2Crafty Chipboard inspired
by the grid-design from the ice-cream cone.
I then gathered up many blue, purple and pink flowers and buttons
from my stash and layered them diagonally across both canvases.

The beautiful "Ornate Butterfly" also comes from 2Crafty
as does the "Celebrate Today" title which I cut into 2 pieces.

You can see here the layering of the 2 canvases.
Of course, I dabbed a lot of white paint over all my project to soften it up!

You Make Me Happy
(2Crafty May DT Reveal Part 2 & SATW Epic Event)

I promised you yesterday that you would love my 2nd share
of my 2Crafty Chipboard DT reveal this month.

Please let me know in the comments if you do! :)

I'm so excited to share with you this layout as it is my entry for the Epic Event
challenge over at Scrap Around the World, inspired by the fun celebratory mood board designed by SATW owner and my friend, Helen Tilbury.

Even though I'm part of the Scrap Around the World DT
(my DT reveal also based on this same mood board will be revealed tomorrow!!!),  I'm able to play along this month as part of  their VIP
because I made it on their Wall of Fame back in September 2014.

You can find out all the details on this challenge HERE,
and you'll be happy to know that 2Crafty is one of the major sponsors,
so needless to say, I have my eye on that prize! :)

I was inspired by the overall happy feel of the mood board,
so I knew right away that I wanted to use the 2Crafty "You Make Me Happy title".  I started with a coat of white gesso and then just dabbed parts of it with
3 shades of pink and purple stains, based on the colours of the mood board.
As you can obviously see, I accentuated the word 'happy' by coloring it blue.

On the left of the title, you see a cluster of beautiful Prima flowers.

To go along with the title theme, I decided to add my own little sunshine
coming from the "Mini Weather Icons" pack.
I added polkadot embossing to the tag and strips of pink cardstock,
which was inspired by the beautiful shoes on the board.

Also from the "Mini Weather Icons" are the cute little clouds to which I added some sparkle texture paste and Stickles for some added sparkle.

Inspired by the photo of the girls playing with pink balloons,
I used some "Bubble Clumps" painted pink...

and 3 of the "Mini Hot Air Balloons".
I treated them with white gesso, blue, purple and pink stains,
Bo Bunny glitter paste, Stickles and dabs of white paint.

This photo and layout just puts a huge smile on my face!

Two Hearts
(2Crafty May DT Reveal Part 1)

It's my turn to be featured once again on the 2Crafty Chipboard blog today
and I am sharing with you 3 very girly shabby chic layouts, the first of which you can see below!

Each one of them features a fabulous picture of 2 pretty little girls that my boyfriend
and I feel blessed to have in our lives, the daughters of some dear friends of ours,
Celeste and Jade, whom you've seen before on some of my creations.

I am really happy with this layout, the mix of cold and warm colours
the country yet elegant romantic feel, the beige wood grain paper from Kaisercraft,
an assortment of flowers and bling from Prima, and of course all the chipboard pieces used,
starting with the "Two Hearts title" which I simply covered with stain and
glimmer mist, and then lightly dabbed the bottom part with white paint.

I used 3 of the 4 "Chained Circle Frames" which I tucked behind the photo
and the upper and lower paper layers.  I treated them with white gesso,
and then dabbed different shades of brown and blue stains followed by white paint.
I did the same to the "Interlocking Grid Panel".

The country look is accentuated by the wood grain paper background
as well as the kraft paper flowers and twine.

To go with the feathery white blanket the girls are posing on,
I decided to add 2 pieces of the "Soft Feather Set" to which I added light blue stain,
white paint and sparkle texture paste on the usual coat of gesso.

Another very country-looking piece is the "Doodled Heart" over which
I added another heart which is the center piece of the smaller "Lace Heart Frames".
I then cut out a piece of the "Love Border" to use as a subtitle.

Another look at the stars of my layouts today.
What photogenic girls, right?

If you liked this layout, I promise you will love the one I'll be sharing with you tomorrow.

If you can't wait, you can see it right HERE on the 2Crafty blog!
