Happy Girl
(Creative Scrappers Sketch Challenge #298)

I was very happy today to get reacquainted with a most wonderful sketch challenge blog on which DT I was lucky enough to be on in the past and with whose sketches I have always enjoyed working!

This is my layout inspired by their latest sketch:

Creative Scrappers is owned and run by Kristine Davidson who also designs all the sketches, including this lovely one for the September challenge.  Click HERE for all the details on challenge #298!

I am sure that you will agree that this sketch is very unique.  It right away sparked many creative ideas in my mind so that I had a bit of a difficult time sorting them all out and actually deciding on a theme and color/product scheme for this page.  I finally opted for some BoBunny Penny Emporium to match a picture of my niece Daphne in her kindergarten year.

I accented the page with bare wooden shapes which I thought matched the papers very nicely and some chalkboard stickers and diecuts from My Mind's Eye and 7Dots Studio.

I used my Silhouette to cut the circle shape as well as the title.

What a pretty purple princess Daphne is on this picture... looking quite dainty right down to the purple flower in her hair.  She was standing real proud, so happy to finally be in school like her big sister!

I really like how this layout turned out, thanks to Creative Scrappers for the awesome sketchy inspiration as a kickstarter!

Enjoy Your Special Day Card
(More Than Words MINI Challenge)

Are you up for a MINI challenge?!

The More Than Words MINI has gone live today and I am sure you will ENJOY it! :P

Here is the mini word for September:

You can check out more DT inspiration using the word ENJOY right HERE.
To play along, you have to include the word ENJOY on a card, tag or ATC and share it on the More Than Words Facebook page by the end of the month to be eligible to win!

I created my card with Blue Fern Studios leftover papers from my MAIN challenge reveal layout.

As you can see, I've added the word that I found in my stash in the form of a sticker.

I combined lace, chipboard, flowers, buttons, sequins and dabs of white paint.

I hope you enjoy!  If you do, please leave me a comment - I love to read your feedback!

Love You
(Stuck?! Sketches Anniversary Bash Blog Hop 2)

We're continuing on the celebration on the Stuck?! Sketches blog to celebrate of sketchy inspiration!
Today is my turn to share my interpretation of the September 15th sketch.

My page is a very simple girl page, bright and beautiful, showcasing 3 photos of the pretty Celeste, as on the sketch.  Click HERE for all the details on this challenge!

Just Nick is one of the several Stuck?! sponsors this month and they have most generously offered half of the DT (including yours truly) some of their fabulous cut files.

The cut files that I have chosen to use on my layout are the following:

In order to better feature the cut files, I decided to use them with plain cardstock.  I love the bold black Love You title against the pink background... it shows off the clean cut lines of the piece.

I had a harder time cutting the Floral pattern as I used glitter cardstock and my Silhouette may not have been set on the right setting.  But it's ok... the ragged edges still give it a cool distressed look.

I have a feeling that I will be using the Stems file very often!  Always comes in handy!

Sometimes I just love going back to the simpler ways of scrapbooking without the messiness of mixed media and the overloading of embellishments (as I normally use on my projects now).

This turned out to be a very sweet layout about a very sweet girl!

Make sure to visit Stuck?! Sketches all week for loads of DT inspiration using the Just Nick digital cut files!

Ces Bons Moments
(Scraps of Elegance "By The Sea" Kit)

So I'm back today to share another layout created with the "By The Sea" Scraps of Elegance Kit.

This one is not necessarily sea-themed as the previous 3, but it still has a very Summery feel.

For this layout I was inspired mostly by the colours of the Prima flowers in the Floral add-on kit.  I thought that they would be perfect to complement the pictures of my friends' daughters.

I even used the Prima packaging material from the kit which I cut into different size squares and layered diagonally across my page.

And here is a closeup of more blooms from the Floral Add-On.

I am so grateful to my friends for allowing me to document these special moments in their daughters' lives.  Scrapping such photogenic little girls who are as pretty as can be always make for great layouts!

I have a bit of leftovers from the kit so I will most likely be back soon with a few more smaller projects so stay tuned!

You're Adorable
(Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal 2)

My second Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal project this month is as sweet and shabby chic as the first one, from yesterday's post right HERE, was romantic and elegant.

I was inspired by the September challenge at Berry71bleu with is to use this sketch and add something blue to your layout.  I created my own take on the vertical orientation on the sketch and, as you can clearly see, the colour blue, even if combined with other colours, takes center stage on my page with the gorgeous BFS chipboard pieces.

I wanted to create a very girly page with bright colors over a pale classy background.
I created my background by ripping pieces of the Tranquility "Jubilation" paper and apposed them on top of the pink Courtship Lane "Town Gossip".  I cut out squares out of the wood grain pattern from the "Jubilation" papers and made a vertical collage combined with white corrugated cardboard and lots of flowers.

You can see here a Brigitte Butterfly that I cut in 2.  It was covered with Bonny Blue embossing powder with a dash of Blue Diamond glitter.

The other half of the butterfly is right here amidst flowers, including a very lovely pink Attic Charm daisy.  You can see here that I did some stamping throughout my page.

The focal point of my page is this gorgeous piece from the Jubilation Corners set.
It was covered in Bonny Blue, sprinkled with Blue Diamond glitter and dabbed with white paint.

On my last close-up shot, you can see the star of this layout, my pretty and adorable niece Ella, as well as the title chosen which I created by combining the word Adorable from the French Words set and a piece left over from another title I had cut out in the past. I treated it with a mix of Mushroom, Ginger and Nutmeg powders.  You can also see here a sneak of the Bits of Honey covered in Fuschia.

Romantic Moment
(Blue Fern Studios DT Reveal 1)

To join in on the Stuck?! Sketches Anniversary Bash Blog Hop starting today, click HERE.

It's my DT reveal day on the Blue Fern Studios blog, and this month I am sharing projects utilizing a variety of collections as well as chipboard, flowers and Imagine Ink mediums.

Let's start with this very romantic wedding page created on a background
of Love Story "Cotillion" and Timeless "Couture" papers.

I chose to use the title Romantic Moment on which I created an ombre effect using Garnet and Magenta embossing powders as well as a little white paint.  The title was added on layers of fussy cut flowers, pieces of Floral Lattice Bits and more paper flowers from the BFS collections.

I created a rustic look on the Everlasting Dangles by combing a mixture of Garnet embossing powder, black crackle paint, white acrylic paint and some distress stains.  The beautiful key, covered in 14Karat, is from the Vintage Keys set.

Here's a closeup of all the beautiful BFS flowers I used.  What an elegant bouquet!

And this is the picture that inspired this whole page, of my friend Nathalie and her beau on their wedding day... surely a romantic moment to cherish forever!

Feel The Sea Breeze
(Scraps of Elegance "By The Sea" Kit)

Well, this has been a very busy Summer creating sea-themed projects... so many that I have lost count.  I can however say that this is my 3rd one using the Scraps of Elegance August "By The Sea" Kit.  Gorgeous Blue Fern Studios papers and chipboard, Prima flowers and brads, coordinating stickers, fancy metal trinkets, some mixed media items... this kit is choc full of nautical goodness.

Yesterday's layout featured me at the beach photographed by my boyfriend and now today the tables have turned. I took this picture of Yves during a seashore walk in our maritime hometown.

Whenever I work with stickers, I often layer the back with cardstock so that I can pop them up with 3D foam squares for added dimension, as I did here.

I used a mixture of embossing powders and glitter, some from the kit, some from my stash, on these awesome Blue Fern Studios chipboard pieces.

Oh, how I love my Beach Babe! :)

Let's take another look at this August kit from Scraps of Elegance along with some add-ons.
I will be back a bit later in the month with some more SOE creations using "By The Sea".

Calm
(Scraps of Elegance "By The Sea" Kit)

I am back today with more seaside inspiration using the latest kit from Scraps of Elegance, called very fittingly "By The Sea".

The Elements add-on kit includes a beautiful Seashell Frame from Blue Fern Studios and this gorgeous metal dragonfly trinket.

I added some gold mist and white paint to my background and embellishments.

This photo of me dates back a few years.  As most people, I can be quite critical of photos of myself.  I dare say that this one is a favorite though.  I seem content, happy and relaxed, enjoying a beautiful sunny day on the beach with my boyfriend.

I will have some more SOE beach-themed inspiration to share with you tomorrow!
