PEACE LOVE & JOY - Mixed Media Wall Decor
(Daily ART DT)

I am back on the Daily ART blog today with another Christmas project!

Being December, obviously, I was inspired by Christmas so I decided to do
a festive wall decor celebrating this special time of year!
I created my canvas by putting together Hardboard Plaque #10 as my base
topped with Book Separator #5 and Plaque #4 to enlarge my canvas.

I decided to work on the textured side of the hardboard. I started by covering it
with a thin coat of White Gesso Paste after which I used the Morocco #1 Mask
and Gold Stencil Paste to create even more texture.

I then went a little mixed media crazy with different paints and sprays
covering the whole base with different shades or red and gold.

I covered the Hardboard Snowflakes with several coats of Milk Vintage Paint
topped with a bit of Red Chameleon Patina to add a little shimmer.

All the title chipboards have been painted with Royal Gold Metallic Paint
and then dabbed with a bit of Milk Vintage Paint.

After I affixed all my chipboard, flowers and decorations,
I sprinkled lots of Glass Beads and sprayed more Glimmer Ink.

I absolutely love how my first Daily ART project turned out
and I hope you do too!

BIRTHDAY GIRL - Card
(Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge)

I was inspired to create this sweet birthday card by this week's
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is Party Time!
And what better reason to party than a birthday!

I kept this card quite clean and simple with no mixed media
because I wanted to keep the emphasis on the beautiful papers.

I added some sparkly sequins to add to the party theme.

I hope you enjoy!!

SUGARY SWEET - Single Page Layout
(7 Dots Studio + Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo Challenges)

I wanted so badly to play along with the November challenge
at 7 Dots Studio and almost didn't make it in time,
as these last few weeks have been very crazy and I haven't felt
much like scrapbooking other than my usual DT work,
but today, I finally got some time and my mojo back and here is my entry!

The 7 Dots Studio November challenge is Favourite Animal or Pet,
so of course I was going to scrapbook a lovely page about my fur baby, Sugar.

Having had no kids, Yves and I would find the house very empty and boring without this little precious creative sharing our home. She brings joy into our lives every single day. Sugar has a lot of CATtidude! She is very vocal and extremely affectionate and we love her so much,
ever since we adopted her 5 years ago when she was 2 and in need of a new family.

We have recently found out that she has a heart murmur, but despite this condition,
we hope that she will be with us for many many years to come!

I was also inspired by the fun splashes challenge at Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo!
I opted to add a few splatters of Snow White Glossy Spray Ink from Daily ART.

As you can see, I used mostly papers, tags and stickers from the 7 Dots Studio Illumination collection. I also mixed and matched stickers and chipboard from a few other 7 Dots Studio lines.

I did some stenciling on my background with acrylic paint (polkadots)
and stencil paste (flowers) from Daily ART.

I used a lot of old school silk and paper flowers, trying to match the lovely pastel colours of the Illumination papers. It made for a very cheery and sweet design, reminding me of Sugar.

And here she is... my most favorite kitty in the world! :)

Thank you so much for dropping by!

DUSTY ATTIC CHRISTMAS - Card Set
(Dusty Attic DT + Simon Says Monday Challenge)

For my second Dusty Attic DT project this month, since it is December,
I thought that I would create and share with you a set of Christmas cards
using some very festive Dusty Attic chipboard and colours!

I am also entering this card set into the Simon Says Monday Challenge!

On this first card, I some pieces from the Creative Layers #5 set
combined with a bit of Perforated Mesh.

On the poinsettias, I used Dusty in Colour Cranberry with some Clear Gloss Varnish and
dabs of Vintage Gold to give them some shimmer and painted the pine branch
with a mixture of Forest and Capri.  I decorated the center of my flowers with DA bling.

The second card showcases the rest of the Creative Layers set, which goes to show that
these chipboard pieces can be used in layers as was intended or on their own as I did.

I used the 'Celebrate This' piece from the Mini Captions #10 set,
and turned it into my sentiment by covering the 'this' by 'noel' of the Wordplay #5.

On my last card, I cut up the Holly Flourish and layered the pieces
to frame a corner of my card and added a couple Stars #2.

I dabbed the flourish with Forest acrylic paint first and then once dry
I lightly dabbed some of the Capri colour and then covered it with Clear Gloss Varnish.

Here are the Dusty Attic products I used when creating this card set:

Until next time!

'TIS THE SEASON - Single Page Layout
(CSI DT - Case File 244 + Stuck?! Sketch)

This is a bittersweet reveal for me as it is my last case file
Yes, I am retiring as a CSI Detective at the end of the month,
but I am very grateful to Debbi at CSI for this incredible opportunity!

This is Case File No. 244 which inspired this layout.
Click HERE for more details and more DT inspiration based on this file.

The Scene quite obviously evoked Christmas feelings in me.

The Scheme is a classic Noel palette of red and green
with some neutral pale gray/almost white, gray and black.

From the Evidence, I chose Christmas, animals (the deer head), trees and ribbons (bow).

For my Testimony, I opted to just add a simple sentiment about what I love
the most about Christmas and that is spending it with my love.

I was also inspired by the December 1st Stuck?! Sketch.

To create this layout, I went and searched through my old Christmas stash
and found this very beautiful Pink Paislee collection that matched
the Scheme quite perfectly.  It is called Merry & Bright.

The trees are from the Die Cut pack from Pink Paislee.

I spritzed some Snow White Glossy Ink Spray from Daily ART on my page.

It's true that Christmas just wouldn't be the same without him...

Thank you so much for visiting!

DREAM WITH YOUR EYES WIDE OPEN - Single Page Layout
(Dusty Attic DT - December Mood Board Challenge)

I got busy with my extensive stash of Dusty Attic chipboard
to create this very fun and whimsical layout
based on the Dusty Attic December mood board challenge!

Here is the lovely December mood board.  Click HERE for the details.

I was so inspired by the board as I absolutely loved its colours and retro feel!

I used only black, white and different hues of teal/aquamarine blue
so I treated all my chipboard with a combination of dark charcoal Copic marker
and the lovely Oceania Dusty in Colour acrylic paint.

I fussy cut the photo of my friend's beautiful daughter and created
with an array of flowers and the gorgeous and intricate Floral Fantasy design.

On my background white cardstock and beautiful 13arts Vintage Moments paper,
I used the River Stones stencil (as seen above) and a mixed media stamp.

To go with the Floral Fantasy chipboard, I also used the Fantasy Flowers
and one of the Paisley #3 border. These pieces are absolute must haves!

I added a few Mini Dragonflies and then lightly misted the embellishments
with some Daily ART white Vintage Ink Spray.
Speaking of embellishments, the fabulous steampunk badges are from Cuts2luv!

I am very proud of how my page turned out and I find that it complements
the December mood board perfectly with a little 60's flower child look!
