FRIENDS FOREVER - Mixed Media Canvas
(Scraps of Elegance DT + Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo
& Mixed Media Place June Challenges)

I had a few leftovers from the April and May Scraps of Elegance kits,
and so I thought I would use them to create this mixed media canvas!

I was inspired by the Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo June challenge
that is all about the colour PINK.  As you can see, the main colour of my canvas
is pink, different shades of it over a soft pink background.
Despite the fact that I am not much of a girly girl and I cannot say
that pink is a favorite colour of mine in my everyday life, I do tend
to use it a lot in my scrapbooking and love all the possibilities
of creating with it, so this challenge was fairly easy for me.

I was also inspired by this nature-themed mood board
Quite obviously, I veered away from most of the colours of the images,
but I went along the nature theme by using lots of flowers
and butterflies, and of course, used many Prima and Finnabair products.

From the April SOE kit 'A Song of Spring' Elements Add-On kit,
I used the large Memory Hardware Resin 'Montchamp Imperial' Frame.
And from the May SOE kit 'Mix'd Media', I used lots of Prima flowers
including the gorgeous Haley flowers from the Floral Add-On
as well Timeless Memories Recollections Metal Trinkets also from Prima,
among many other products from the kit and its add-ons.
Click HERE to find out more about these kits and current kits.

Now let's look at some close-ups!

I started off with a 9x9 white canvas base and primed it with Gesso.
I then did some stenciling on the background with molding paste,
and then misted it in gradual tones with different shades of pink.
I also dabbed a little Art Alchemy 'Coral Reef' Acrylic Paint.

I then stuck down the frame, then chipboard, flowers, leaves, metal trinkets
and popped up the die-cut butterflies with 3D foam squares.

After all my embellishments were stuck down, I sprayed some
spray adhesive and sprinkled some primrose ice resin as well as
Finnabair Art Ingredients 'Blush' Micro Beads.  The spray adhesive is awesome
to help all those little pieces stick to the canvas and embellishments.

As a final touch, I dabbed some white acrylic paint on pretty much
every flower and decoration and around the canvas to create a softer border.

And then you go...
a very 'pretty in pink' canvas with gorgeous Prima blooms
and loads of mixed media texture and colour!

for the inspiration as well as Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance
kits for lots of the fabulous products used.

COLOR ME HAPPY - Single Page Layout
(Scraps of Elegance DT - 'Mix'd Media' Kit
+ Mixed Media World Challenge)

I have yet another project to share with you today
that I created with the Scraps of Elegance 'Mix'd Media' kit.
This is my 4th layout, and I just may create another project
in the coming days as I have so much leftovers from the kit and add-ons.

The 'Mix'd Media' kit offers, quite obviously by its name, several
art-related embellishments like chipboard shapes from the Blue Fern Studios'
Happy Accident collection that are all about messy art, so I knew just
the photo I would scrap to put the focus on these elements.

Scrapbooking does get messy sometimes (well, all the time), and I love it!

With this layout, I would like to play along with the fabulous challenge
at Mixed Media World which is 'anything mixed media goes'.

Click HERE for all the details!

I added some paintbrushes to decorate my page,
sprinkling some micro-beads in and around the tips.

On the already very colorful background paper, I misted
some blue, pink and white to add even more colour, and I stamped
some dot designs using the BFS set from the Elements Add-On

It turned out a very messy and busy page,
perfect for this photo of my dirty artsy fingers after
some mixed media play with paints, mists, stains, etc.

HE IS SO VERY DAPPER - Tag
(More Than Words DT - June Mini Challenge)

It's Mini reveal time over on the More Than Words challenge blog!

This month, I also decided to create a tag.
You can say that it's the masculine version of my May 'SHE' mini project.

Yes, it's quite obvious, the June mini word is...
Click HERE to find out all you need to know about the Mini Challenge
and to see gorgeous inspiration from the More Than Words DT.
Remember that in order to participate, you have to share your project
on the More Than Words FB page right HERE by the end of the month.

Let's take a closer look at my 'HE' tag!

I had a tag with the word HE pierced into it, and so
I knew that it would be the perfect start off point for my project.
I used the holes to stitch the outline of the letters.

Keeping on with the steampunk theme of the main challenge,
I incorporated a stop watch, a couple mustaches and even a top hat.

I added a couple masculine brads also.

The base tag was kraft-colored, but I stained it black with distress stain
and I then created some cool mixed media effects with yellow
and turquoise embossing powders and 2 different stencils.

I also misted the top tag with golden yellow and white.

I hope you enjoy!

And here's to hoping that you will play along!

SWEET BUTTERFLY KISSES - Single Page Layout
(Scraps of Elegance DT - 'Mix'd Media' Kit + Berry71bleu June Challenge)

It's time to reveal my 3rd layout created with the
Scraps of Elegance 'Mix'd Media' kit for the month of May.

I was inspired to create this very sweet and Summer-y layout
by the June challenge at Berry71bleu that you can find right HERE.

I was inspired by the sky blue and the sand beige from the beach images
and the overall theme of Summer, flowers... and of course,
where's there's flowers, there's butterflies!

And there are so many butterflies in the SOE Elements add-on kit,
in the Tim Holtz Ephemera package.  I just had to find a way to use
as many of them as possible on a page.  This was it!

I decorated my page with a Prima metal trinket bow with dangling pearls
that's included in the main kit.  I thought it was just the sweetest touch
to a sweet layout.  The flowers are all from Prima.

I added some texture on my background by scraping
some DecoArt Texture Sand Paste.  I then sprayed different shades of blue
and did a bit of stamping using the BFS set from the Elements Add-On.

This is my youngest niece, Daphne, during a visit
to Butterfly World, definitely a must-go place for the Summer!

Here are once again more detailed pics of the 'Mix'd Media' kit and its add-ons:

LOVE THIS GIRL - Single Page Layout
(Scraps of Elegance DT - 'Mix'd Media' Kit
+ Words & Paintery June Challenge & Sketchabilities #149)

Over the next few days I have a few more projects to share with you
that I created with the Scraps of Elegance May kit called 'Mix'd Media'.

In the making of this fairly soft pastel layout, I was inspired
by the June challenge at Words & Paintery that you can find HERE.

I was also inspired by this fabulous sketch from Sketchabilities!
No, the challenge blog is not back up and running, but the owner,
Karan Gerber, is skirting around the idea, and has offered us sketch #149
to play along with this month.  Find out more details HERE
I would so love to see Sketchabilities and Cardabilities come back
as Karan's sketches are absolutely fantastic and so inspiring to me!

The Blue Fern Studios Happy Accident collection papers are so gorgeous
that I have had a hard time choosing which one to cut into for every layout
created with this kit.  For this page, you can see a pale pink background
layered with some blue and just a touch of yellowy beige.
The Elements Add-On kit comes with a pack of arrow words chipboard
also from Blue Fern Studios and so I used this one to create my title.

Like all SOE kits, there are tons of gorgeous flowers in the Main kit and
the Floral Add-On. I opted for several pink blooms for this page.  I slipped some flower
die cuts from the Tim Holtz Ephemera pack behind my flower clusters
and added a Cuts2luv flair button from my own stash.

Below you see one of many Tim Holtz Ephemera butterflies die cuts
from the Elements Add-On.  Simply beautiful!

And of course, the star of my layout, my beautiful niece Ella.
The photo dates back a few years and, to date, is still a favorite of mine.
I have scrapbooked it before in the past, and will probably scrapbook it
again in the future.  It just makes my heart melt!

And that's it for today! I will be back tomorrow with some more!

BONHEUR - Single Page Layout
(Cuts2luv June Challenge)

Oooh, here in Eastern Canada, Summer is not officially here yet...
we still have a few days to go, and to be honest, it's still a bit chilly.
But the flipflops and tank tops are out and life just seems lighter overall!

I LOVE this season!

Especially since it makes for so many beautiful crafty projects too!

I made this layout super sunny and bright as I was inspired by the Cuts2luv
June challenge for which you can see the board below!

If you have Cuts2luv flair or chipboard in your stash, you will want to click HERE
to find out how to play along (English version is available).
And if you don't yet own their products, then what are you waiting for!?
Click HERE to see all their fabulous designs!

The challenge is to pick a minimum of 2 elements in the board
to incorporate in your layout, so I went ahead and picked them all!

I based my design on the sketch and stuck to the colour palette.
I chose the Cuts2luv chipboard word 'Bonheur' for my title (which means
happiness/joy, thus, 'plaisir').  My page is obviously about Summer
for which I chose the also Cuts2luv flair piece 'Vive l'été' (Happy Summer).
And finally, I added polkadots to my background with molding paste
and a stencil and I hand-stitched some circles with string (fil).

Apart from the Cuts2luv flair and chipboard, I used mostly Prima products
from papers from the Editorial Dept and Sun Kiss collections and many elements
from the Free Spirit line as well as of course plenty of Prima flowers.
The complete list can be found below.

I sprayed some orange, yellow and white mists on my background
to add on to the sunny effect.  It makes for a very nice contrast I find
with the blue flowers and that beautiful Cuts2luv ombre Summer flair.

And look at this sweet little face basking in the sunshine!
This page makes me super happy just looking at it!

Thank you so much for dropping by!!
